Store and track third parties who don't work at your agency but are involved in deals — like publicists, lawyers, or managers at other agencies.
Why we built this
Most agencies work with people outside their own team on a regular basis. Previously there was no way to track these relationships inside July. External Team Members gives you a structured place to store that information and connect it to the deals and talent they're associated with.
Assigning to talent
Once an external team member is created, they can be assigned to individual creators. They'll appear in the talent's team section alongside your internal team members and managers.
Assigning to deals
External team members can also be added directly to deals. Inside a deal, go to the Team section and add the relevant external team member — useful for tracking who is involved in a specific negotiation or partnership.
Commissions
If an external team member receives a cut of deals, you can set that up under Commission Settings in Agency Settings. For example, if an outside manager always takes 3% of a specific deal type, you can assign that rule to them so it's automatically tracked.
Attributes
External team members can also be used as an Attribute type on talent profiles, so you can surface them in the Talent Dashboard table view.
FAQ
Will external team members have access to July? No — external team members don't have a login or any visibility into the platform. They are internal records only, used to help your team track outside relationships and commissions.
Can I assign the same external team member to multiple talents and deals? Yes — once created, an external team member can be assigned to as many talents and deals as needed.
Can external team members receive commission on deals? Yes — you can set up commission rules for external team members under Commission Settings in Agency Settings.
